The Ride
Rookie Riot was started as a project for young/new people to learn the bluegrass style. The idea has since evolved into a well recognized band in the Swedish bluegrass scene.

We revived the biggest bluegrass event in Sweden!
In 2019 over 11.000 people experienced bluegrass in the heart of Gothenburg!
The 28:th of May 2022, The Haga Bluegrass Street Festival took place again! After pandemic lockdown for two years it was finally time! In 2019, our first year, there were over 11.000 people visiting the street festival during the span of the day!! What an amazing showcase for bluegrass music in Sweden!! This year we had seven bands performing at 5 different locations. At the big square there were some sound amplification, but otherwise along the street the bands played acoustically. I know this is a challenge for both musicians and audience, but I know also the bands will learn from it - as will the visitors. There is a special connection when people get closer and experience the true acoustic sound of a bluegrass band jamming! I am thankful for the great teamwork with The Haga Business Community and The City Center Developers to be able to showcase bluegrass to such a wide audience! Thanks everyone who came out - friends, neighbors and foreigners!!
